I’ve been listening to full albums by new bands a lot lately, as opposed to shuffling old hits, which is all I did the last few years. This is a fan-video for ‘You, appearing’, from M83’s ‘Saturdays = Youth’ - a French ‘My Bloody Valentine meets Prefab Sprout plays the Cocteau Twins’ affair.

Other albums I have been listening to:

Moderat - Moderat

The Black Atlantic - Reverence for Fallen Trees (Dutch! Free download!)

The Airborne Toxic Event - The Airborne Toxic Event

And this obscure oldie, mad exotica:

Eden Ahbez - Eden’s Island

And also: Soulsavers - Broken (with Mark Lanegan),  Kings of Leon - Only by the Night, Julian Plenti - Is Skyscraper (alter ego of Interpol’s Paul Banks), The XX - XX, White Lies - To Lose My Life, Reverend and the Makers - A French Kiss in the Chaos, Darker My Love - 2The Horrors - Primary Colours.

I’ve been picking these up through two means:

1. The music played over the PA’s in the three hours leading up to U2’s 360 show.

2. VPRO’s ‘Luisterpaal’ iPhone app. I couldn’t be arsed with Luisterpaal as a web app, but on the iPhone it’s damn handy. Luisterpaal streams full albums for free, all legal.
